ENRICHMENT

Enrichment

In 2020 we were excited to launch our new Enrichment programme giving students at Portland Place School the opportunity for new experiences, to develop new skills and gain recognised qualifications. Every Wednesday afternoon, instead of formal lessons, all students take part in the Enrichment Programme, choosing from a wide range of activities. Enrichment takes place straight after lunch and finishes at the end of the school day.

Staff across the school offer sessions, sometimes with external experts, on a 6 week rotation.  Some courses may lead to a qualification or skill that may help students to build their CV for their future aspirations. Most activities are free, but there are those that are run by or involve visiting outside organisations, such as horse riding; there is an additional cost for these options.

We have already offered trips to London Zoo, local London Museums and walking the local area. We have a whole host of sporting activities including Horse Riding, Fencing, Yoga, Football, Basketball, Badminton, Self-Defence, Archery and Ultimate Frisbee. We have a lot of creative activities to choose from including Makerspace, the School Productions, Creative Writing, Jewellery Making, Photography Skills, Theatre in the Community, Rock Band and Stand Up Comedy. We have Science, Business and Technology sessions looking at Anatomy and Dissection, ECO Club, PPS Enterprise, App Design and Guerilla Gardening.

And this is just the start, as the year goes on we add more and more to the list.
