Physical Education Extra-curricular

The Extra-curricular programme in PE is designed to give as many pupils as possible the opportunity to take part in physical activity and competitive sport, as well as to improve performance in academic PE. School clubs run throughout the year and are varied termly, ranging from a morning GCSE revision club to dance and cricket. Competitive sport comprises a comprehensive programme of House Sport events where the focus is on inclusivity and as wide a range of activities as possible, so all pupils have the opportunity to achieve success. Inter-school fixtures work on a termly calendar of events which include A and B team matches, which involve the majority of the pupils in each year. Pupils also have the opportunity to take part in area and regional competitions in disciplines such as cross country and athletics. Teams have the chance to travel on sports tours, where competition, team-building and cultural appreciation come together to provide a lasting and memorable learning experience.
