Students study many different aspects of contemporary chemistry that affect all our daily lives. The course builds an appreciation of the inter-linking patterns which are a feature of the subject. It also reveals the interrelationship between the development of the subject and its numerous applications - social, economic, environmental and technological.
It is important that all students have the required knowledge and understanding of fundamental chemistry in order to explain the different aspects of contemporary chemistry such as climate change, pharmaceuticals, green chemistry, and chemical research.
This course is designed to be motivating to both teachers and students.
