The Sixth Form's Enrichment Programme

We were delighted to welcome Matthew Batstone, the Director of the New College of the Humanities (NCH) and his colleague, Rosey Winder, the Admissions Adviser, whose talk about the university proved interesting and useful. The university offers degree courses in: English, Economics, Law, History and Philosophy and will focus on giving students an opportunity to contribute in lectures and seminars.

NCH has a world-class team of Professors with a stellar reputation for academic excellence, supported by an enthusiastic, talented team of tutors, lecturers and other teaching staff. All of them are committed to teaching and research. Professors include well-known academics such as Professors A. C. Grayling, Richard Dawkins and Stephen Pinker. Wouldn't it be exciting to have a one-to-one tutorial with someone like that?

Students for whom a humanities degree that encourages intellectual rigour may wish to consider making an application to NCH either now (if they're in the Upper Sixth) or in the Autumn Term (if they're in the Lower Sixth).  Whilst the standard fees at NCH are steep, there are many exhibitions/scholarships available. Unlike most British universities, these scholarships and exhibitions are not means tested; in other words, all applicants, regardless of their financial situation, are automatically assessed for an exhibition.

Students interested in visiting NCH may either attend one of its Open Days or they may join Mrs Brahams-Melinek in visiting the university during the enrichment programme slot within the near future.
