Creative Arts at Portland Place School
Head of Creative Arts Faculty: Ms Alison Stringell
The Creative Arts Faculty is a thriving faculty where students have the opportunity to explore the arts, and enrich their lives. Our aim is to inspire creative thinking and learning; to encourage and develop the aesthetic and the communication of ideas.
The Creative Arts Faculty includes:
· Art
· Drama
· Music
· Design & Technology
· Photography
· Graphics
· Film & Media Studies
The Arts enhance imagination, and we offer students the opportunity to join and take part in after-school clubs, art exhibitions, concerts, musical/dance productions, drama productions, workshop presentations and educational trips to arts establishments (theatres, concerts, galleries and museums).
The faculty encourages visiting professionals (artists, craftspeople, designers, musicians, filmmakers) to perform for and work with students. By offering these extensive extra-curricular activities, we help students develop inventiveness and self-discipline.
We develop life long skills that will help students, not only during their time at Portland Place, but throughout their lives.
We offer a range of GCSE and A Level courses in all subject areas and are proud to boast good results across the faculty.
The Faculty is supported by our outstanding staff of practitioners across creative disciplines.
